Part 1: What were 2 points from this week’s reading that stood out to you as particularly important and/or interesting? Why so?
Postmodernism-related topics are covered by McRobbie (2003, pp. 1–10). In order to address issues and disagreements head-on rather than erasing them from history, the author first makes the case that the postmodern style of writing and life is beneficial. Considering that postmodernism is a subjective construct created by language, culture, and individual viewpoints. Another question raised by McRobbie in the late 1980s was Marxism's place in postmodern sociology and cultural studies. It draws attention to how indivisible social divides and groups are. This begs the issue of what role fragmentation and diversity will play in the future of feminism. Because of this, postmodern feminism has been criticized for being idealistic and is still up for dispute, even if it offers theoretical insights into the complexity of gender and power.

Part 2:Choose one of your favourite postmodern media texts and explain the way in which it is postmodern.
Family Guy is my preferred example of postmodern media text. It is an animated comedy that follows the Griffin family in Quahog, Rhode Island and was produced by Seth MacFarlane for Fox Broadcasting Company. Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie, and Brian are among the characters that appear in the program. Recalling comedies like The Simpsons and All in the Family as inspiration, it has garnered favorable reviews and has been considered for an award.
Because Family Guy uses intertextuality, a non-linear story, playfulness mixed with realism, satire, parody, and metafiction to question social conventions and undermine prevailing beliefs, it is a postmodern media text. The program frequently engages with realism, putting humorous emphasis on inflated or unbelievable circumstances—a hallmark of postmodernism. In addition, Family Guy parodies powerful people such as Bill Gates and George Bush while criticizing a range of institutions, including politics and religion.
What are the reasons you like this text? Do these reasons include its postmodern characteristics? Why/why not/ how so?
I enjoy how Family Guy skillfully and charmingly satirizes a current subject without offending its audience. The program also incorporates bricolage, which is the technique of combining parts from several sources to produce original material. It regularly challenges conventional linear narrative by utilizing non-linear storytelling methods like humorous flashbacks and cutaway gags. From then, it challenges the hegemonic rulers while generating viewpoints that are entirely distinct from the framework and unstable.
